about
Tamara and Hamish have a wealth of knowledge spanning, film, television and theatre, with over 50 years combined experience in puppetry. Their knowledge of making and puppetry ranges from the very large to the miniature.
Through the specialised design and build process, Things of Foam and Wood specialise in making puppets and props that stand up to the rigours of touring and handling, with a special focus on the ergonomic nature of each puppet. As performers and creators, Hamish and Tamara understand that the performer’s body is a tool and your health and safety is just as important as aesthetic and creative considerations.
Hamish and Tamara live in the Macedon Ranges with their families and work together in a studio in Kyneton. They are focused on creating world-class puppets and performances in Regional Victoria and beyond, whilst offering training and employment to local artists.
